How a Child Grows at Govardhan Aashray Gurukul
Siddhanta
The Spiritual Foundation
Aligned with the ancient Gurukul tradition, we believe in the divine truth that character building should be the cornerstone of education. Through learning guided by the Shrutis ( the four Vedas, which are heard), the Smritis (recollected & deeply rooted in the Shrutis), the Itihasas (Ramayana & Mahabharata), and the Puranas (texts that eulogize the divine), our moral responsibility is to prepare the younger generation as responsible citizens who shall lead a life of integrity, love & compassion.

The Environment That Shapes
It takes a village to raise a child. At Govardhan Aashray Gurukul, we are building a strong surrounding of a like-minded community for the complete all-around development of our students. Being conscious of the need for a self-sustainable community, our efforts are committed to providing a cultural, traditional & spiritual experience to children and the society at large. They learn from the holy scriptures, serve Gaumata, take care of nature, participate in all that nurtures a meaningful character with guided learning & curiosity.

Learning From Within
Learning should begin with mutual trust, not instruction. We honour the child’s natural rhythm, letting curiosity lead the way. Here, Bhasha (Samskrit), Vyakarana (Grammar), Dharmashastra (Social code of conduct), Arthashastra (Mathematics, Economics, and Politics), Shastravidya (Art of welfare), Aaharshastra (Food & Health), and Kala (Fine Arts) are core disciplines that are taught gently, only when the child is ready. Sacred texts (Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, Ramayana, Mahabharata) are not memorized, but lived. So that a child discovers their path through Dharmic values & spiritual principles.

What a Child Carries Forward
The outcome of education should not be external success, but inner awakening. With this noble aim, we facilitate every child’s character building with clarity, care, and conscience. By the time they are ready to step out, they carry with them the strength of an empathetic community, emotional maturity, and a deep alignment with dharma. What they carry forward is not just knowledge, but a responsibility that’s not just for their own choices, but for the world around them.

Our Design
Dealing with Children
We understand their nature - They feel cared
Every child is unique, we try to preserve this uniqueness.
At early stage, children stay in their ‘Bhava Vishwa’ and we consciously do not interfere.
Formal teaching, instructions are not at all a need at early stage and nature is the best teacher. We provide natural environment ‘Pancha Mahabhut’.
Experiencing nature develops curiosity.
We Assist - Their curiosity is enhanced
Curiosity generates questions, we encourage them to find on their own.
They put all their endeavor, they struggle, we don’t let them compromise, curiosity further enhances.
Only strong curiosity fuels hunger for learning. Unless one feels urge to learn something, one cannot grasp, we help them learn ‘how to learn’ and not ‘what to learn’.
Depending on the need and scenario we at times decide ‘to attend’ or ‘not to attend’ them consciously.
We facilitate - They learn, they decide, they discover
We are conscious about our dealings with them such that they feel open to express, confident, cared, protected and secured. Frequent Samwad helps us to go deeper in their personality & psychology and that establishes a trust between us. We believe in them and they love to learn.
When positive learning attitude develops, they don’t give up. They constantly explore, go through many experiences. This leads them to discover their path.
Through appropriate Swatantrya, through conscious Samskaras, through Shastric studies, through frequent Samwad, they become emotionally, mentally, intellectually stable, conscious about Dharmic values and Spiritual principles to lead a meaningful and responsible life. They learn to love.
